See below in bold the winter series dates, If the weather is almost certain to be less than 5 knots or more than 25. we can cancel early in the week and move to another date.

Round 1:

Sutho takes out Winter Series Round one at Mounts Bay SC

                                     

With just enough wind to race, PRO Andy Curnow was able to rustle up 4 quick races.

This is how racing should be.  Quick racing, 30 second restarts after the last boat.  The result was 4 boats finishing within 1 point, requiring 2 count backs.

Race 1 saw Mark gain a big advantage from the RHS and was uncatchable, despite a close chasing Thor.

Race 2 again favoured the RHS and Sutho, back from his quick harness dash home, capitalised leading all the way, whilst Thor picked up another consistent 2^nd.

Race 3 saw Chris start at the left and seemed to have great speed as well as the favoured side to take a second win from a close chasing pack at the finish.

Race 4 had both Denis and Chris on the LHS with good starts.  Chris was pinched off early but fell on a good layline to the top, leading by a boat length.
The bottom of the course needed quick decisions as the breeze was changing quickly.  Chris picked the Left gate, Denis and Mark the right.  The right paid for the first 3/4s then a big swing and pressure at the top saw Thor catch up as he was reading the wind off everyone ahead.

Denis rounded first and took the gun, Chris got a second to win overall.

Results after Round 1.

I have made an alteration to the results so the boats absent only receive 1 extra point than the last boat to finish.
So if only 2 boats are competing everyone else will score a 3 instead of 9.
Also every 5 races we will have a drop, i.e. after 5 drop 1, after 10 drop 2.

Finally you will notice that boats who have not come up with there own name have been given one!
